About Us

The founder of this traditional craft company was Franz Bätker, born on 13 December 1900. He took the step into self-employment before World War II, in 1929, as can still be seen from the entry in the trade register in old documents. Back then, the scope of work included all types of carpentry, from children's cradles to coffins.

During the war years, the business was continued by all family members under particularly difficult circumstances.

The founder’s son, Franz Bätker, born on 20 September 1932, began producing timber roller shutters after the war. This specialization proved to be successful for the region.

The entire family was involved in assembling the slats for the wooden shutters. At that time, surface treatment consisted merely of dipping in a wood preservative primer, which impregnated the wood profiles on all sides.

The actual finishing of the surface was usually carried out on site by a painter after installation.

With the introduction of PVC roller shutters, demand for wooden shutters gradually declined. Production slowly ceased around 1970.

The founder’s grandson, Franz Bätker, born on 14 June 1965, revived this line of production after passing his master’s examination in carpentry (1989) and in roller shutter & blind construction (1991).

Since then, the product range has been extensively expanded. New machinery has been purchased, partially self-designed, repaired, and overhauled. Today, this enables us to flexibly meet all customer requirements regarding delivery times, profiles, wood types, colors, etc.

Special requests are never a problem for us – all work steps are carried out in-house.

We are happy to collaborate with skilled trade companies, who handle installation of the roller shutter curtains on construction sites across Germany and throughout Europe themselves.
