Before the era of Wood-Mizer mobile sawmills, it was the customer who had to transport the logs to a stationary sawmill, where they were processed by a fixed, energy-hungry, and inefficient machine. Once cutting parameters were set, they couldn't be adjusted during sawing, and each log had to pass through the machine in its entirety. The blades used in frame sawmills left thick kerfs in the wood, generating significant waste, and the quality of the sawn material left much to be desired.

Revolution. A breakthrough occurred with the introduction of the lightweight, portable Wood-Mizer sawmill in the USA in 1982, developed by the talented engineering duo Don Laskowski and Dan Tekulve. The debut of the LT40 sawmill on European markets in the early 1990s opened a new chapter in the sawmilling industry, enabling sawmills of the time to modernize and ordinary people to process timber independently and pursue their dream of running their own business.
