CARROT LINE GRADER SYSTEM

System will be coming out of production end of May/early June. All equipment has had a full service and checked over during the spring period for the coming year.

Haith Screen Bits Remover.

The Screen Bit Remover continuously removes broken fragments of crop and debris from the produce flow. Carrots are transferred onto a traveling screen with a set size aperture. As the screen is conveyed forward, two full-width agitators gently move the crop causing any bits and debris to drop on to a waste conveyor below where the produce is taken over the end. The screen and agitator speeds are variably controlled individually to suit the various crop conditions.

Grader / sorter
Odenberg Titan 2 automatic camera grading system – installed in 2008.

Titan 2 Sorter 6002.2, 3-way carrot sorter.
The first sorter removes product that is not usable, damaged etc to the waste line.
The second sorter removes short carrots, twisted and misshaped which are sent directly to the value tank.
All the rejects go through the positive sorting area and the grading operative throws back any product that is fit for value sale.

Grading Station.

The grading operatives throw out any unusable product to the waste line via the positive grading area.
Two to four graders can operate here depending on the quality of the produce.


Wyma Lift Roller Sizing Grader – installed in 2019

The product is divided into five grades.

500g, 0-25mm, this goes to the value tank.

1kg, 25 – 42mm max.

Loose min 30 – 45mm max.

Lumpers, min 45mm upwards.

Oversize.

The Wyma Lift Roller Sizer is a diameter grader suitable for a wide range of fruits and vegetables including carrots, potatoes, parsnips, beets, citrus, onions, bulbs, brussel sprouts, rutabaga and other round or tubular products. It is extremely versatile, offering multiple size outputs at high capacity in one machine. It can cater for a large range of product sizes and shapes through a selection of different roller options. Product size ranges, or size bands, are created by adjusting the spacing between the rollers, at defined locations, along the length of the machine. The Lift Roller Sizer is made from stainless steel and food-grade plastic materials.
